Yaeger CPA Review Course – How I Found It

The Yaeger CPA review course was not the first CPA review course I ever used. The previous course I used resulted in passing only one section of the CPA exam. That was when I turned to the home study course provided by Yaeger. The result was much better than anticipated as I succeeded in passing the three sections with flying colors.

The Yaeger website states that candidates who have revised using the Yaeger CPA review course materials have an 88% pass rate on the CPA exam. The founder, Dr. Phil Yaeger, has been preparing people for the exam since 1977. I was attracted to the fact Dr. Yaeger and his team provided access to a tutors help line. It is an invaluable part of their student support system and is an 800 number. I myself have made plenty of calls to this hotline number and have talked with very patient teachers (including Dr. Yaeger himself a couple of times) who would not finish the call until all my questions were answered.

The lecture videos are fairly absorbing and are delivered by qualified teachers. The instructor would initially explain important procedures, and then take students through multiple choice questions and simulations. One benefit of the Yaeger system is that more lesson time is taken up with materials that will more likely appear on the exam. Similarly, they would tell people to focus more on doing simulation questions that have the highest chances of turning up in the actual exam.

I also found the cram DVDs offered good value and accounted for a few point boost to my CPA results. Every DVD teaches a reduced version of a single CPA section and varies between 7-16 hours. The focus really seems to be on identifying areas you have weaknesses with and building self-belief and knowledge to strengthen them. Even students who use a different CPA review course can gain knowledge from these cram DVDs by using them as supplementary, last-minute study materials.

All Yaeger CPA review course materials are updated annually, including lesson videos which are recorded annually. Thus, the student can have confidence they are learning from the most relevant information.

Surprisingly, in spite of their high quality, Yaeger CPA products cost less than than many other CPA exam review courses. Overall, I am very satisfied with the Yaeger CPA review course as it helped me succeed in the CPA exam. I would not hesitate in recommending it to anyone wanting to pass the CPA exam the first time.
